September 2026 – A beautiful recent installation by the team at AES Scotland Ltd – a premium set of electric wooden 5-bar estate gates, completed at an exclusive luxury estate in Edinburgh.
These gates combine the traditional look of a classic five-bar estate gate with the convenience of fully automated access, creating an impressive entrance while keeping everyday use simple.
Bespoke Wooden Estate Gates
The five-bar design is a popular choice for larger driveways, country properties, estates, and homes looking for a more traditional entrance.
For this project, the beautiful timber gates were paired with an above-ground gate automation system, giving the homeowners the ability to open and close the gates at the touch of a button.
The result is a practical automated gate system that retains the character and appearance of traditional wooden estate gates.
Videx GSM Intercom for Controlled Access
The electric gates were also fitted with a reliable Videx GSM intercom system, giving the homeowners control over who enters the estate.
Visitors can use the intercom at the entrance to contact the homeowners, allowing access to be granted remotely without having to go out to the gates.
For a larger driveway or private property, combining electric gates and an intercom system is a great way to improve both convenience and security.
A Beautiful Premium Entrance for This Edinburgh Estate
This is a particularly impressive example of what can be achieved with electric wooden gates in Edinburgh. The traditional five-bar design looks at home against the surroundings, while the automation and Videx GSM intercom bring the entrance right up to date.
From the timber gates themselves to the automation and access control, the complete system was installed by the AES Scotland team in Edinburgh.
If you’re considering electric gates for your Edinburgh property, we’d be happy to discuss the options available, from traditional wooden estate gates through to modern automated gate systems and intercom access.
