September 2026 – We’ve recently completed another premium automatic gate installation in East Lothian, with a beautiful set of bespoke handcrafted wooden swing gates.
For this project, the customer wanted an entrance that looked right for the property while also providing the convenience and security of a fully automated gate system. We designed the installation around their requirements, combining traditional timber gates with modern automation and access control.
The result is a smart, secure and completely automated driveway entrance.
Bespoke Handcrafted Wooden Gates
The gates were specially designed and handcrafted in timber to suit the property and the customer’s requirements.
Wooden gates are a great choice for creating a traditional and welcoming entrance, while a bespoke design means the gates can be made to complement the property rather than looking like an off-the-shelf addition.
The handcrafted timber finish gives this entrance plenty of character, while the automation provides all the convenience you’d expect from a modern electric gate system.
Fully Automatic Swing Gate System
The wooden swing gates have been fitted with a fully automatic swing gate system, allowing the customer to open and close the gates without having to leave their vehicle.
Automatic swing gates are particularly useful for driveway entrances, providing convenient access while also allowing the property owner to control who enters and leaves the site.
The system has been installed to work seamlessly with the gates and the property’s access control.
2N Intercom Access Control
As part of the installation, we connected the gates to a 2N intercom system to provide convenient and controlled access to the property.
The intercom allows visitors to contact the property owner from the entrance, with access then granted remotely when required.
This provides an additional layer of security while making it much easier to manage visitors and deliveries without having to manually open the gates.
Free Exit Radar
We’ve also installed free exit radar to make leaving the property as simple as possible.
When a vehicle approaches the exit, the radar detects it and automatically opens the gates, meaning the customer doesn’t need to use a remote control when leaving.
Together, the automatic gates, 2N intercom and exit radar provide a complete access control system that’s convenient for everyday use.
A Bespoke Automatic Gate Installation
One of the most important parts of any automatic gate installation is making sure the system works for the property and the people using it.
For this East Lothian project, we’ve combined the handcrafted timber gates with the automation and access control to create a system that’s both practical and in keeping with the property.
The driveway surface and brick pillars are still to be completed, but we think the gates are already making quite an entrance!
Once the remaining work is finished, they’ll really help complete the look of the driveway.
